Alfred Onnen

Alfred Onnen (born December 11, 1904 in Hohenkirchen ; † May 16, 1966 in Jever ) was a German lawyer and politician ( FDP ).

Life and work

After graduating from high school, Onnen began studying law and economics at the universities of Freiburg im Breisgau , Munich , Vienna and Göttingen , which he completed with two state exams. He then worked temporarily in the private sector before setting up as a lawyer in Berlin . From 1940 to 1945 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier .

Onnen moved to West Germany in 1945 , settled in Jever and worked there as a lawyer and notary.

Political party

Onnen joined the FDP after 1945 and was elected deputy state chairman of the FDP Lower Saxony in 1947 . He was also a member of the party's federal executive committee . Together with Thomas Dehler and Fritz Neumayer , he formed the party's internal commission to investigate the Naumann-Kreis affair .

MP

Onnen was a member of the district council of Friesland . He was a member of the German Bundestag from its first election in 1949 to 1957. He entered parliament in both electoral terms via the Lower Saxony state list. From 1953 to November 9, 1954 he was deputy chairman of the Bundestag committee for building and land law.
