Alfred look
Alfred Schau (born October 11, 1867 in Gera ; † after 1931) was a German civil engineer.
Life
Alfred Schau, son of the middle school teacher Richard Schau, attended the Realgymnasium in Gera. After graduating from high school, he studied engineering at the Technical University of Hanover , where he became a member of the Corps Macaro-Visurgia Hanover . After completing his studies, he worked as a government construction manager at the railway departments in Erfurt , Berlin and Hanover . In 1890 he became a government master builder at the Meliorationsbauamt I in Königsberg . In 1896 he switched to the Prussian building trade school . In 1900 he became director of the building trade school in Nienburg (Weser) . In 1908 he switched to the building trade school in Essen as director with the title of senior director . He took part in the First World War as Major of the Landwehr and First Adjutant of the Landwehr Inspection in Essen and was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd Class and the Landwehr Service Award 1st Class. Schau was the author of numerous textbooks on construction, which often appeared in multiple editions.
