Alfred Steinhart

Alfred Steinhart (born May 8, 1923 in Riedlingen ; † April 20, 2015 in Konstanz ) was a German electrical engineer as well as an economist and social scientist.

Life

Alfred Steinhart was committed to military service after graduating from high school in 1942. After American prisoner of war, he studied from 1946 electrical engineering at the Technical University of Stuttgart and was established in 1956 with a thesis in the industry at the Technical University of Darmstadt in the economics of Dr. rer. pole. PhD. Since 1958 he has been teaching business administration and electrical engineering at the Konstanz State Technical Center . He was involved in the transfer to a state-owned sponsorship as the State Engineering School Konstanz and in 1971 to the Konstanz University of Applied Sciences . In 1969 he was appointed professor; he built up the social sciences department and was its dean from 1971 to 1979. From 1980 until his retirement in 1986 he was vice-rector of the newly organized Konstanz University of Applied Sciences. As a retiree, he worked for many years in looking after the alumni and HTWG senior lecturers. In 2012, he was the first to be entered in the Golden Book of the Konstanz University of Applied Sciences.

Steinhart was involved in local politics for almost 20 years . He was a member of the local council and after the incorporation of Dingelsdorf to Constance in the local council of Dingelsdorf. He was also employed as an honorary judge at the Constance Regional Court . He was a member of the Association of German Engineers (VDI).
