Alfred Vogel (musician)

Alfred Vogel (* 1972 in Bregenz ) is an Austrian drummer, percussionist and producer. Musically he moves from freely improvised music to modern jazz , groove and afro beat , singer / songwriter and pop and rock bands to the setting of film content.

Life

Vogel studied business education in Innsbruck (1999) and attended jazz workshops with Alex Deutsch , Billy Hart and Wolfgang Muthspiel . In 1999 he stayed in New York for a few months and took lessons from Billy Ward, Memo Ascevedo, Bobby Sanabria and Ben Perowsky .

As a drummer and percussionist he has been active in pop / rock / jazz formations since the 2000s. Europe-wide tours followed with The Kilimanjaro Dub & Riddim Society, HANG EM HIGH, Die Glorreichen Sieben, Intensivstation, the Brendan Adams Trio, CeCe Rogers Nuphunk, XPQ21, Hendrix Ackle, Arrival, Peter Madsen 's CIA, Peter Madsen 's CIA Trio, Souldepartment, Rene Mosele's Ramblin.

Since 2004 he has been running his own label "Boomslangrecords". As a producer and drummer he was active in his own recording studio. Since 2007 he has been artistic director of the “beaubereatz” festival in the Austrian Bregenzerwald and since 2014 for the jazz series at Spielboden Dornbirn.

Since autumn 2011 the "Vogelperspektiven" has been published in five albums; with musicians from Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Finland, Ghana and the USA, spontaneous recordings appeared in duo, trio and quartet formations.
