Alfred Weyland (born November 26, 1959 ) is a German footballer .

Career

At the age of six, Alfred Weyland - known as Pete - started playing football. In the various youth classes he first played for his home club SV Veldenz until 1976 . The 1.82 m tall male decker celebrated his greatest sporting successes at FSV Salmrohr , for which he was active from 1977 to 1989.

In the 1986/87 season, the FSV Salmrohr with Weyland and players like Bernd Hölzenbein , Klaus Toppmöller and Edgar Schmitt, as vice-champions of the then Southwest football league, were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga . Weyland was there 32 times and scored two goals. He played his last second division game on June 14, 1987 (FSV Salmrohr against Hannover 96 , final score: 5-5). In total, he played around 400 games in the regional league, the upper league and the 2nd Bundesliga.

Weyland has been a trainer since the end of his active career in 2001. He currently works for the regional league team Spielvereinigung Bernkastel-Kues .
