Here he had a 0-2 record in four starts. At the beginning of the 2008 season, the Tigers sent him to another team in the single A division, the West Michigan Whitecaps. At the Whitecaps, Fígaro set some career records. He had twelve wins in 19 starts, pitched two full games and 123 innings and scored 96 strikeouts. He was then called back to the Lakeland Tigers, but could not win again. He earned a 0-5 record and a 4.91 ERA in five starts. Nonetheless, he was named to the Erie Seawolves roster at the start of the 2009 season. There he was honored as the player of the week of the week of April 20th. Luke French was added to the squad for him .
