Alfredo Guarini

Alfonso Antonio Alfredo Guarini (born May 23, 1901 in Sestri Ponente , † April 6, 1981 in Rome ) was an Italian film producer and director .

Life

After graduating in economics, Guarini worked in Venice in 1928 as Alexander Korda's assistant and worked on documentaries that were created in Berlin and Paris. Back in his home country he founded the company “Tirena Film”, for which he worked in various functions from 1934 to 1937 (as organizer, producer, and now and then as director). He left Italy again and went to Hollywood, where he wrote two scripts and met his future wife Isa Miranda , whom he married in July 1939. In 1940 Guarini returned to Rome and directed a number of films with his wife in the leading role until 1943. In 1941 he directed Die Weisse Göttin . Actors were u. a. Isa Miranda, Gustav Diessl and Fosco Giachetti .

One last directorial work came about ten years later - an episode of the film We Women, which he produced . From 1948 to 1962 he worked for “Italia Film” with production tasks for films, some of which were artistically significant.
