Algimantas Visockas (born May 27, 1987 in Elektrėnai ) is a Lithuanian ice hockey player who has been playing again with the Vilnius Hockey Punks in the Lithuanian ice hockey league since 2016 .

Career

Clubs

Algimantas Visockas began his career as a ice hockey player with the Lithuanian record champions Energija Elektrenai , for whom he made his debut in the Latvian ice hockey league in 2004 at the age of 17 . From 2005 to 2009 he was Lithuanian champion with SC Energija. In the Latvian league it was only enough for middle places. In 2010 Visockas moved to the English club Romford Raiders . After two years, the then 25-year-old returned to Elektrėnai and in 2013 again won the Lithuanian championship title with the team. The following season he also began at the club from his hometown, which has since played in the Belarusian Wysschaja Liga . During the season, however, he went to Bizonai Kaunas in the domestic Lithuanian ice hockey league . In 2014 he joined the Vilnius Hockey Punks within the league . After playing for SC Energija again in 2015/16, he returned to the hockey punks in 2016.

International

Visockas has already taken part in the junior world championships for Lithuania.

He made his debut in the Lithuanian men's national team at the World Cup of Division I in 2006 when the Lithuanians only narrowly missed promotion to the top division by losing 3-5 in the decisive game against Austria . Also in 2008 , 2010 and 2013 he was on the ice for Lithuania at the World Championships in Division I.

He also took part in the qualification for the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and the qualification for the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi . The Lithuanian team always failed in the first qualifying round.
