Ali Dere (theologian)
Ali Dere is a contemporary Islamic theologian , religious official and university professor from the group of Turkish reform theologians known as the Ankara School .
Life
He received his doctorate from the University of Goettingen in specialist Oriental . He worked as a lecturer at the Institute for Studies in the Culture and Religion of Islam at the University of Frankfurt am Main . Since 1999 he has taught as a professor of hadith studies at the Theological Faculty of Ankara University . At the Center for Islamic Theology at the University of Tübingen he had a visiting professor for hadith studies. He was head of the Department for External Relations of reporting directly to the Turkish Prime Minister state institution of Religious Affairs (Presidency of Religious Affairs) in Ankara also operates and as such for the posting of imams at the DİTİB responsible -Moscheen to Germany. From 2011 to 2012 he was chairman of DİTİB, the largest Islamic association in Germany with its headquarters in Cologne , and thus also Turkey’s embassy counselor for religious matters. In a "four-point program" for Germany that was widespread on the Internet, he announced that he would work in particular to ensure comprehensive Islamic religious instruction at all schools in Germany, to establish the training of imams in Germany, and to promote the recognition of Islam to be used as the official religion in Germany and to make efforts to meet the religious needs of the Turks living in Germany. He was one of the signatories to the Amman Embassy .
