Ali Fuat Saraç

Ali Fuat Saraç (born July 22, 1946 in Kalecik , Ankara Province ) is a former Turkish Major General of the Army (Türk Kara Kuvvetleri) .

Life

Saraç entered the cadet institute (Askerî Lisesi) in Erzincan in 1958 and then completed an officer training at the Army School (Kara Harp Okulu) , which he completed in 1966 as an ensign (Asteğmen) of the engineering force. In 1967 he became platoon leader in the 48th Infantry Brigade and subsequently found several uses in other army units before he began his training as a staff officer at the Army Academy (Kara Harp Akademisi) in 1975 , which he finished in 1977. Between 1977 and 1988 he was employed in the operations department in the General Staff of Turkey , in the 41st Infantry Brigade, in the 51st Infantry Brigade, in the 6th Tank Brigade, the Aegean Army and as a planning officer at NATO headquarters .

After Saraç had attended the US Military Academy in West Point from 1988 to 1989 , he first became a lecturer at the Army Academy and then in 1990 commander of the 11th Motorized Infantry Regiment and then in 1992 an officer in the staff of the Turkish troops in Cyprus KTBK (Kıbrıs Türk Barış Kuvetleri Komutanlığı ) and again an officer at NATO headquarters in 1994.

After his promotion to Brigadier General (Tuğgeneral) on August 30, 1995 Saraç was commander of the 10th Infantry Brigade and then head of the engineering department in the Army High Command, before he became head of the engineering department in the General Staff of Turkey.

On 30 August 2001 Saraç became a Major General (Tümgeneral) transported and Undersecretary of Construction and Procurement MTİY (Müsteşar İnşaat ve Tedarik Yardımcılığı) in the Ministry of National Defense MSB (Millî Savunma Bakanlığı) and in 2003 commander of the Kartografiekommandos (Harita Genel Komutanlığı) . He was retired on August 20, 2005.

Saraç is married and has two children.
