Alice Kelley

Alice Amanda Kelley (born May 14, 1932 in Springfield , Missouri - † June 27, 2012 in Pasadena , California ) was an American actress . She starred in several well-known movies in the 1940s and 1950s. Including in The Son of Ali Baba , Against All Flags or The Golden Sword . In addition, she also worked as a model before her career as an actress.

life and career

Alice Kelley was born in Springfield , Missouri , in 1932, one of five children of Lewis Kelley, a pastor of the Christian Church. At the age of seven, the family moved to Burbank, California, where Alice also attended school. Alice Kelley began a modeling career as a teenager and was finally named Miss Junior America in 1948 . That same year she discovered a talent scout and brought her into the film business. She played her first small roles in films like Whirling Around Judy or The Bride of the Month . In 1952 she received a long-term contract from Warner Brothers . In George Sherman's adventure film Against All Flags , she soon played the role of Princess Patma alongside Hollywood stars such as Errol Flynn , Maureen O'Hara and Anthony Quinn . This was followed by other film appearances such as in The Son of Ali Baba , An Adventurous Woman or in Nathan Juran's adventure film The Golden Sword alongside fellow actors such as Rock Hudson or Piper Laurie .

In 1953 she married U.S. Air Force Reserve Lieutenant Kenneth True Norris, Jr., and then retired from her brief career in Hollywood . Norris became the heir to Norris Industries. The first son was born in 1955, the second in 1958. In 1996 her husband was killed in a boat accident in Lake Arrowhead , California . Alice A. Norris lived in Pasadena , California until her death in 2012 .

In addition to her short career on screen, she was also seen in a few roles in television series such as The Silver Theater or The Bigelow Theater in the early 1950s .
