Alice Peters
Alice Peters , also Alice Peters-Jonescu and Alice Peters-Ohsam , (* 1929 in Apen ) is a German artist who has many works in Bremen and Westerstede .
biography
Peters grew up in Westerstede. She completed an apprenticeship as a tailor and initially worked in the profession in Hanover and Nuremberg. She then studied at the Hamburg University of Fine Arts and the Nuremberg Academy of Fine Arts .
She has lived and worked as a freelance artist in Bremen since 1958 and created most of her works of art in the 1960s and 1970s, which are often found in schoolyards. The sculptor prefers bronze as a material , but also works in stone and concrete. Their abstract language of form, mostly stylized figures, is part of classic modernism . Many of her works have been in the converted train station in Westerstede since 2010 as a donation to the Foundation for Art and Culture in the City of Westerstede from 1995.
Peters was married to the Romanian German journalist, writer and radio editor Bernhard Ohsam (1926–2001). Her husband died in 2001.
She lives in Bremen- Oberneuland .
