Alinde Rothenfusser

Alinde Rothenfußer (* 1940 in Munich ) is a German artist and gallery owner .

Live and act

Alinde Rothenfußer was born in Munich as the daughter of Anton Sappel , a singer and actor, and Marta Sappel, a painter. Her father rebuilt the Munich Art Association after the war . As a ten-year-old she suffered from tuberculosis and only went to school irregularly. Since she was 15 she worked in the art association. Under the guidance of her mother, she turned to painting at an early age. In 1959 she studied painting with Erich Glette and Bill Nagel in Munich, and from the following year she worked as a freelance painter. In 1961 she became a member of the Professional Association of Fine Arts BBK. At the age of 30, she trained as a nurse in psychiatry, worked for ten years as a ward manager in internal medicine, where she met her future husband, Walter Rothenfusser, an ophthalmologist.

From 1964 to 1969 she was artistic director of the Münchner Kunstverein . In 1993 she founded the Kunsthaus Orplid Gallery for Contemporary Art, first in Icking , and since 1995 in Solln . With her art houses she supports artists from the area.

Alinde Rothenfußer is married and has seven children.
