Aline Bonjour (born January 5, 1985 in Lausanne ) is a former Swiss ski racer . She specialized in the disciplines of slalom and giant slalom .

biography

Bonjour first took part in FIS races in December 2000 . At the age of 17, she definitely opted for a career as a skier and against swimming, in which she had also performed well. In January 2003 she drove her first race in the European Cup and in the Junior World Championship in 2003 she was ninth in the combination . After tearing a cruciate ligament in January 2004 due to a serious fall in the European Cup downhill run from Innerkrems , she had to take a year off.

The 2005/06 season was characterized by rather average results, with the exception of their first victory in an FIS race. In January 2006 she contested her first race in the World Cup . In her second World Cup race, the slalom in the Sierra Nevada on February 25, 2007, she finished seventh in the middle of the top of the world. A month later she became Swiss champion in slalom and combined. On December 28, 2007, Bonjour took 21st place in her first giant slalom World Cup in Lienz .

The surprising seventh place in the Sierra Nevada remained her best World Cup result, the second best is an eighth place in the slalom of Aspen on November 30, 2008. In the giant slalom, a 14th place remained the best result. At the 2009 World Championships in Val-d'Isère Bonjour reached tenth place in the slalom. In the 2009/10 World Cup season, she only ranked three times in the points. The following winter, she never succeeded, which is why she announced her immediate resignation on February 22, 2011.
