Aline von Schlichtkrull (born November 20, 1832 in Silenz on Rügen , † March 5, 1863 in Berlin ) was a German writer and musician.

Life

Aline von Schlichtkrull came from a family from West Pomerania that was raised to imperial nobility in 1802. She was the first of the four daughters of Felix Karl von Schlichtkrull (1805–1878) and his wife Ottilie Wilhelmine Christiane von Berg (1814–1871).

From 1845 to 1847 she received private lessons in literature, history, painting and music in Berlin. In the fall of 1850 she went to the Stern Conservatory and in the spring of 1851 she moved to Professor Kullak's house , where she came into contact with many well-known artists. That is how she met Heinrich Smidt , Luise Mühlbach and Max Ring. The literary activity that began in her youth has now been intensified and in the course of her short life she presented an extensive oeuvre.

In the spring of 1853 Aline moved to the lecture artist Elise Schmidt, who from 1855 accompanied her musically on lecture tours at home and abroad. However, she soon became seriously ill and her strength began to weaken. It came to a falling out with the family, who wanted the separation from the friend Elise and the return of Aline to the parental estate Engelswacht .

After returning from a lecture tour in Reichenhall via Munich, Aline von Schlichtkrull died at the age of only 30 in Berlin and was buried on March 8, 1863 in the Matthäi churchyard in Schöneberg . The grave has not been preserved.
