Alisha Rebecca Glass (born April 5, 1988 in Leland , Michigan ; now Alisha Glass-Childress ) is an American volleyball player . She became world champion in 2014 and won the Olympic bronze medal in 2016.

Career

Glass began her career at her native Leland High School. During her studies, she played on the Pennsylvania State University team from 2006 to 2009 , with which she won the national championship three times in a row. From 2009 to 2016, the setter was part of the US national team , with which she won the Volleyball World Grand Prix three times (2010, 2011 and 2012) and the NORCECA championship (2011, 2013 and 2015). She also became world champion in Italy in 2014 and won the bronze medal at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .

From 2010 to 2016 Glass was also active in various foreign associations. She played in Brazil with Vôlei Futuro, in Poland with Atom Trefl Sopot (2012 Polish champion), in Italy with Universal Volley Modena , in Puerto Rico with Criollas de Caguas and with Indias de Mayagüez (2013 Puerto Rican champion), in Turkey at Fenerbahçe İstanbul (2014 CEV Cup won ) and again in Italy at Imoco Volley Conegliano (2016 Italian champion).

Since 2018 Glass has been a trainer at Crean Lutheran High School in Irvine, California .
