Alister McRae in a Hyundai Accent at Rally Finland 2001
Alister McRae (born December 20, 1970 in Lanark , Scotland ) is a British rally driver . He is the younger brother of 1995 World Rally Champion Colin McRae († 2007) and son of Jimmy McRae (himself a five-time British rally champion).
In 1995 Alister McRae became British Rally Champion. In the World Rally Championship in 2000 and 2001 he drove a Hyundai Accent WRC for the Hyundai team . His best result was a 4th place in the 2001 Rally Great Britain . In 2002 he was under contract with the Mitsubishi team. At the end of that season, however, his contract was not renewed.
