Aljoscha Neubauer

Aljoscha Neubauer (born November 18, 1960 in Kassel ) is an Austrian psychologist and professor of differential and personality psychology at the University of Graz . He is the current president of the Austrian Society for Psychology (ÖGP).

Career

Neubauer graduated in 1980 in Graz , where he also studied psychology and sociology and received his doctorate in 1986. In 1994 he completed his habilitation on the subject of "Intelligence and speed of information processing" in Graz. In 1995/1996 he was a representative of the chair for differential psychology at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main . In 1997 Neubauer was awarded the William Stern Prize by the DGPs for outstanding achievements in the field of differential psychology.

Since 1998 he has been professor of differential and personality psychology at the University of Graz, where he also held various management positions (including vice dean and head of the Institute for Psychology).

He is currently past president of the International Society of Intelligence Research ( ISIR ); before that he was President of the International Society for the Study of Individual Differences (ISSID). Aljoscha Neubauer is the acting president of the Austrian Society for Psychology (ÖGP).

Research priorities

His current research interests include the investigation of individual differences in areas such as intelligence , creativity , practical intelligence , and their neurophysiological foundations. In addition to a large number of scientific articles, he also published two books with Elsbeth Stern and a large number of popular scientific publications in newspapers and magazines.

Neubauer also deals with social and emotional skills as well as researching giftedness and leadership .
