Alla von Buch Mendjuk (born March 21, 1931 in Kiev ) is a Ukrainian pianist .

Life

Von Buch learned piano at the State Academy of Music in Munich in the class of Maria Landes-Hindemith as well as with Wladimir Horbowski in Stuttgart and with Sergei Alexandrowitsch Kussewizki in New York. She studied musicology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich with Thrasybulos Georgiades .

She was a professor at the Richard Strauss Conservatory in Munich and at the Universidad de Guanajuato in Mexico. As a “visiting artist” she was also at Yale University in New Haven, Earlham College in Richmond, Colorado Women's College and at several state universities in the USA, as well as at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and the Gnessin Institute in Moscow .

She played in the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg, in the Munich Herkulessaal , in the Wiener Musikverein , in the Ateneu Barcelona, ​​in the Art Center Ottawa, in the Phillips Gallery Washington, in the Mandel Hall Chicago, in the Sala Xochipilli in Mexico City and in the Palais Sheremetiev in St. Petersburg. Today she lives in Deisenhofen near Munich.
