Allansford is a small town in the Western District of Victoria , Australia , which is at the western end of the Great Ocean Road . It is 252 kilometers from Melbourne and 10 kilometers from Warrnambool . The Hopkins River flows through the village .
history
The Post Office opened on January 1, 1860. The Port Fairy Railway , which runs through the town, opened in 1890 and used to stop at Allansford Station.

In 2006 Allansford had a population of 630 people.
Warrnambool is planning an industrial park for this area.
The place has a team that plays Australian football in the Warrnambool & District Football League .
The Great Ocean Road ends here and becomes the Princes Highway .
Allansford was hit by the severe flooding in Victoria on January 16, 2011 , along with other locations in the area .
