Di- n- propyl isocinchomeronate is used as an insect repellent . It was approved in the United States in 1957 by the McLaughlin Gormley King Company (MGK).

There is no evidence of the use of di- n- propyl isocinchomeronate in pesticides. In Germany, Austria and Switzerland, no pesticides with this active ingredient are permitted.
