All roads lead to fame

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

All roads lead to fame ( AWFNR for short ) is a German-language podcast named after the author Friedemann Karig by the TV presenter Joko Winterscheidt and the photographer Paul Ripke . The first edition of AWFNR was published in September 2017. The title makes playful reference to the confusingly similar traditional saying all roads lead to Rome .

history

The first season of AWFNR appeared on several popular streaming platforms in September 2017 and comprises ten episodes. After the first season of AWFNR was over, the two announced a second season with a teaser on October 3, 2018 , which started on October 12, 2018. They decided to delete all episodes from the first season, as it would make it less noticeable if stories were told twice. From the second season onwards, two commercials will be recorded in each episode . In February 2019 both toured live through Germany with AWFNR . As a result of July 3, 2019, the two announced that they would start a newsletter that will be sent out every Friday. The third season was marketed via the Podstars by OMR podcast network . At the beginning of the fourth season, ProSiebenSat.1 Media's SevenOne AdFactory took over the marketing. AWFNR has been sponsored by O 2 since August 14, 2019 . The individual episodes have also been published as a video on the YouTube channel All Paths to Fame since February 19, 2020 . On March 31, 2020, AWFNR first appeared on ProSieben television . After a two-week break, the podcast is now published every Tuesday evening on ProSieben.

content

In the podcast, the two mainly talk about their lives. This includes Winterscheidt talking about various programs and his startups and telling Ripke about the everyday life of a photographer who took photos at Formula 1 and the 2014 World Cup . You try to create the atmosphere of a phone call among yourself so that the podcast has a personal effect. In 2019 there was also a lot of meat and alcohol, as both tried to go without these luxury foods for a year . The topic of cycling is also being discussed more and more frequently. The podcast covers a lot of different topics, which can make it seem aimless at times. In order to structure the podcasts, each episode contains a description of the contents with topics and a corresponding time. In each episode, both vote for a “Winner of the Week”, “Content of the Week” and “O-Moment”.

Winterscheidt and Ripke are also called their listeners the “Glory Dates” or “Famousies”.

Production and reach

Every Wednesday a new episode appears at around midnight, which is edited by Ripke. There is no label or studio behind the podcast. The broadcast of AWFNR on TV on ProSieben reached a total of 305,000 viewers. According to Winterscheidt, each episode has around 300,000 listeners and, according to Katharina Frömsdorf, is "one of the biggest podcasts on the market".

Formats and names

The first and second seasons of the podcast were always titled Episode 1.1 - AWFNR to Episode 2.10 - AWFNR . The only exception is episode 2.4,5 - AWFNR , in which the two announce that a tour is planned. While the second season was still running, Ripke started his What would Ripky do? - Call-in-Special 1 - AWFNR by talking to several people on the phone and giving them advice on what he would do in their place. Winterscheidt published the episode Joko meets Travis Knight - Interview Special 1 - AWFNR about two months later . From the twelfth episode of the third season AWFNR altered Winter Scheidt and Ripke the title to AWFNR # 312 - ... . According to Winterscheidt, this only happened to make the title look better. During the AWFNR summer break in 2019, Winterscheidt published all episodes of his series ... and Winterscheidt in one day , in which he meets and interviews various people. The fourth season of the podcast began on August 14, 2019 with the episode AWFNR # 314 - Wildlife in Newport, Bananas in Eisbach and Bavaria in the USA ". The two often speak of their" career repodcast for young professionals ".

Awards

In 2019, Winterscheidt and Ripke won the Golden Hen in the category entertainment for all roads lead to fame. Since both Winterscheidt and Ripke wanted a golden hen, a second hen was given out to the same winner for the first time and thus sent to Ripke in Newport Beach .
