Paul Ripke

Paul Ripke (born February 10, 1981 in Heidelberg ) is a German photographer . He works mainly in the fields of advertising , fashion , sports and landscape photography.

Life

Paul Ripke is the son of a psychologist, his mother worked in Otto Schily's office . Ripke studied business administration without a degree; as a photographer he is self-taught , inspired by his father, who supported him as a hobby photographer. In 2001 he founded Ripke GmbH and received his first paid job as a photographer from Backspin Hip Hop magazine .

On April 18, 2009, Ripke started the vlog Life of Paul , in which he reports from his everyday work as a photographer. There are now three seasons and 40 episodes. Since January 19, 2012, based on the casting show I Want to Work for Diddy by P. Diddy , he has been looking for an intern from among 23 candidates. The jury consists of Marteria and his assistants at the time, David Daub and Daniel Obradovic.

In 2012 and 2013 Paul Ripke traveled with the band Die Toten Hosen on the Krach-der-Republik tour through Europe and shot several smaller concert reports. Ripke was the director of the music video for the song That's the moment . Together with the Hamburg charity organization Viva con Agua and ZDFkultur , Ripke traveled with Maeckes , Marteria and Rainer Maria Jilg for the report BLUganda: An Africa trip - an unusual trip to Uganda to support a well construction project in the Lira region .

Ripke works for 1. FC Kaiserslautern , 1. FC Union Berlin , Ax , Bushido , Die Toten Hosen , Electronic Arts , FC Bayern Munich , FC St. Pauli , Hermes Europe , Hugo Boss , International Watch Company , Jan Delay , Kool Savas , Marteria or Marsimoto, Olympus and Red Bull . On behalf of the German Football Association , he accompanied the German national football team during the cheers and honors after the 2014 World Cup final between Germany and Argentina . In 2016 he accompanied Nico Rosberg during the Formula 1 World Championship . In 2017 Paul Ripke took on the role of photographer for the Mercedes AMG F1 Team and was able to accompany Lewis Hamilton on his way to his fourth Formula 1 world title .

Together with Joko Winterscheidt , Paul Ripke started the podcast All roads lead to fame in September 2017 . Another season of the podcast started on October 12, 2018. In February 2019 Ripke toured Germany with “AWFNR”.

On April 17th, 2018 Paul Ripke released his photo editing app of the same name "Paul Ripke" in the iOS App Store. The app was number 1 in the general German app charts within 24 hours.

Private

Paul Ripke has lived in Newport Beach , California, with his wife Theresa and three children since summer 2016 .
