action
The main actor is a splendid Siamese tomcat named "Tiger". His two mothers, the siblings Patti and Ingrid Randall, are worried about all sorts of things because he scours the whole neighborhood for delicacies. In this way he ends up in the hiding place of the two bank robbers Dan and Iggy, who dragged the cashier with them during a robbery and who want to get rid of her soon. The desperate woman ties her wristwatch to Tiger with a scratched call for help, which, however, remains incomplete. Patti reports this to the FBI . But the posted officer must first learn with his staff to shadow such an unusual " informant "; he also suffers from a cat allergy .
When the FBI opens its headquarters to the Randall girls, who are temporarily living alone, the secret billing of men brings their friends and a snooping neighbor into an uproar, but all investigations end in a fiasco . Thereupon the questionable lead should be given up. But then stubborn Patti “procures” new evidence without further ado - and this time Tiger decides to take the requested direction on his punctual evening excursion. So the two crooks can be arrested and the hostage freed.
criticism
The Protestant film observer is full of praise: “An original Disney film that successfully combines cheerfulness with adventure tension. Suitable for ages 12 and over and warmly recommended for family visits. ”The lexicon of international films, on the other hand, does not have such a good opinion of the film :“ Modern fairy tale with numerous, more silly than funny subplots for the purpose of parodying crime films. ”The Wiesbaden Film Evaluation Office granted this Stripes the predicate "valuable".
Remake
Under the title This darn cat (original title That Darn Cat ) a remake was created in 1997, also from the Disney workshop.
