Allison Beckford (born May 8, 1979 in Westmoreland Parish , Jamaica ) is a Jamaican athlete who specializes in the 400-meter run and 400-meter hurdles . She is also used in her country's 4 x 400 meter relay .
Sporting successes
Beckford took part in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, but did not get through the qualifying rounds of the 400-meter competition due to an injury. She was not used at the Olympics because of the injury in the Jamaican 4 x 400 meter relay, which would later win the bronze medal.
Beckford celebrated her greatest success by winning the relay bronze medal at the 2003 World Athletics Championships in Paris . Together with Sandie Richards , Ronetta Smith and Lorraine Fenton, she only had to admit defeat to the teams of the USA (3: 22.63 min) and Russia (3: 22.91 min) in 3: 22.92 min.
At the Junior World Championships in 1998 Beckford won the silver medal in the 400-meter hurdles in Annecy . In 2003 she also became national champion over this distance.
