Ronetta Smith (born May 2, 1980 in Kingston ) is a Jamaican sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .
She celebrated her greatest successes as a member of the Jamaican 4 x 400 meter relay . At the World Athletics Championships in Paris in 2003 , she won the bronze medal behind the teams from the United States and Russia together with Allison Beckford , Lorraine Fenton and Sandie Richards in 3: 22.92 min . In the 400-meter run, Smith reached the semi-finals in Paris, her best individual result at major international events.
At the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , she was a member of the Jamaican 4 x 400 meter relay, which won the bronze medal. Smith himself was only used in the qualifying round, in the final she was replaced by Novlene Williams .
At the World Athletics Championships in Helsinki in 2005 , the Jamaican relay team around Shericka Williams , Novlene Williams, Ronetta Smith and Lorraine Fenton, as the seventh fastest team in the prelims, just barely qualified for the final. In the same line-up, she won the silver medal behind the superior Russian quartet with a time of 3: 23.29 minutes. Smith also started over 400 m in Helsinki, but failed in the heats.
