Allmystery

Allmystery is a German internet forum on borderline scientific , mysterious , religious and socio-political topics. It was founded in 1987 in the Arpanet and is now only accessible on the web . Originally it dealt exclusively with conspiracy theories , but was later expanded to include several subject areas.

Allmystery was founded at the beginning of the global data network and was originally only accessible within an internal network. Shortly afterwards, the server had (a Commodore 64 ) connection to the global data network via an analog phone line and was daily from 23 clock one hour online . The first subjects dealt with the twenty-three and their checksum 5 based on Robert Anton Wilsons and Robert Shea's novel series Illuminatus! -Trilogy as numbers of the Illuminati .

AMT used to be available at the IP address 81.169.179.241 on Telnet port 23. Allmystery was best known on Telnet for its extensive archive, which dates back to 1987.

Allmystery on the web

Since the technology offered new possibilities over time, an offshoot of Allmystery was formed on the World Wide Web ( Internet ) in 1996 with more than 75,000 topics. These topics include a total of over 19 million posts from around 120,000 active and former members (as of July 2019). On July 17, 2013, Allmystery counted its ten millionth contribution. Around 6 years later, the number of contributions has doubled.

In 2007, Allmystery briefly cooperated with Nexus Magazin .
