Alois Hürlimann

Alois Hürlimann (born November 21, 1916 in Walchwil ; † September 27, 2003 ibid) was a Swiss politician ( Catholic Conservative ).

Life

Hürlimann visited in Stans , the high school , studied law in Zurich , Rome , Paris and Bern and his doctorate with Dr. iur. From 1943 to 1950 he was the central secretary of the Swiss Student Union . From 1951 to 1965 and from 1975 to 1981 he was mayor of Walchwil. As such, he implemented a massive reduction in the municipal tax rate in 1965; In 1973, he kept his promise to personally take over any deficit by paying the community 150,000 Swiss francs. From 1952 to 1962, Hürlimann was the central president of the Association of Catholic Workers' Associations in Switzerland. From 1947 to 1954 he was a conservative Christian-social cantonal councilor , from 1955 to 1974 Zug government councilor (1963/1964 Landammann ) and from 1963 to 1979 national councilor . During his tenure he was President of the CVP Group.

As the cantonal building director, Hürlimann was one of the most important designers in the canton of Zug, whom he shaped with major legal and infrastructure projects (building law, road law, motorways, cantonal schools, large-scale wastewater treatment system, the Bostadel intercantonal prison ).
