Alois Müller (Hebrew)

Alois Müller (born December 10, 1835 in Rabenstein , Bohemia , † May 31, 1901 in Graz ) was a Hebraist and director of the Graz University Library .

Müller attended high school in Znojmo and Vienna , briefly studied theology at the Cistercian Abbey of Heiligenkreuz and then philology and oriental studies in Vienna, where he received his doctorate in 1860 . Also in 1860 he joined the University Library of Vienna, later he was employed at the University Library of Olomouc until 1879 . From 1880 until his retirement in 1895, Müller was director of the Graz University Library. Numerous publications on Hebrew topics come from him.

Alois Müller was the younger brother of the well-known linguist Friedrich Müller (1834–1898).
