Alois Scheffler
Alois Scheffler (born January 28, 1915 in Friedrichroda ; † December 2, 2014 in Dortmund) was a German football official at the Borussia Dortmund football club .
Life
In 1925 he moved with his family from East Prussia to Dortmund. On April 1, 1928, as a youth player, he became a member of Borussia Dortmund and was a youth footballer until 1934, with whom he won the district youth championship, the highest title at the time, that same year.
The trained engineer and architect was chairman of the council of elders from 1968 to 1995 , later honorary chairman of this body . In 1978 he was elected an honorary member of the association. On January 28, 1990, on the day of his 75th birthday, the then DFB President Egidius Braun awarded him the DFB Golden Merit Pin . He is also the only holder of the golden signet ring for 75 years of membership in the association.
