Alojz Ipavec
Alojz Ipavec (also: Lojze Ipavic ; born May 20, 1815 in Šentjur ; † July 17, 1849 in Győr ) was a Slovenian composer.
Gustav and Benjamin Ipavec's brother attended grammar school in Celje and then studied medicine in Vienna and Graz. He worked as a military doctor in Hungary. Because of a severe typhoid infection, he committed suicide by jumping out of a window. His compositions include waltzes in the style of Johann Strauss and Joseph Lanners ( snowdrops , Heimaths sounds , siren waltzes ), a Fantaisie en forme d'une polonaise and a funeral march for piano as well as romantic songs based on German and Slovenian texts ( Fahrewohl , Škerjanček ).
