Gustav Ipavec (also Ipavic ; born August 15, 1831 in Šentjur pri Celju ; † August 20, 1908 there ) was a Slovenian composer.

Ipavec attended grammar school in Celje and then enrolled at the medical-surgical school in Graz. Like his brothers Alojz and Benjamin Ipavec , he studied medicine at the University of Vienna and obtained his doctorate in 1858. After graduation, he took over his father's practice in Šentjur, where he also served as mayor for thirty years.

In addition to simple melodious songs, which enjoyed great popularity, Ipavec composed around sixty works for male and mixed choirs as well as marches and dances. His son Josip Ipavec also embarked on a career as a composer and doctor.
