Theming Region of the Alps

Alpengeist in Busch Gardens Williamsburg ( Williamsburg , Virginia , USA ) is a steel roller coaster of the Inverted Coaster model by the manufacturer Bolliger & Mabillard , which opened on March 22, 1997. Six inversions are installed on the 1167 m long route : an Immelmann , a 32 m high loop , a Cobra-Roll , a Zero-g-Roll and a corkscrew . The theming describes the region of the Alps , whereby the train itself should represent a ski lift. Alpengeist is currently the highest and after Banshee (Kings Island) the second fastest inverted roller coaster with a closed route and a traditional chain lift worldwide.

Trains

Alpengeist owns three trains with eight cars each. Four people (one row) can be seated in each car. The passengers must be at least 1.37 m tall to be allowed to ride. Shoulder straps are used as a restraint system.
