The Alrance is a river in southern France that runs in the Aveyron department in the Occitania region . It rises on the high plateau of Lévézou , in the municipality of Alrance of the same name , initially drains in a south-easterly direction, later turns to south-west and flows 26 kilometers into the Grands Causses Regional Nature Park , at Brousse-le-Château as a right tributary into the Tarn . The Alrance is dammed up to generate energy, the Lac de Villefranche-de-Panat reservoir is around 1.92 km².
