The Old Cooperative - House Ranković in Draževac is known for the architectural, functional and spatial concept of the house - type Šumadija, the construction of which was typical for the area of central Serbia and Šumadija. It belongs to the fully developed type of rural cooperative house of the first half of the 19th century.
Description of the house
The construction of the house refers to the class stratification and formation of a rich layer, in the early 19th century, who were able to build the first important and valuable residential buildings with material resources. With the basic elements of the old Balkan architecture , innovations in terms of building materials, room distribution and detail processing were introduced in the construction of country houses. It has a rectangular base of 15 × 15 m, centrally located with four rooms, three rooms and a "house" with two opposite doors and an open chimney. The house is one of the half-timbered houses , situated on beams of oak on stones. The walls are filled with clay mixture. The roof structure consists of wooden beams, covered with roof tiles. The deep central veranda has been closed on the outside with an arched arcade and later with an additional wooden fence. The calm facade with an accentuated horizontal rhythm of window openings and a veranda is painted white. The large roof gullies are special features in relation to art.
In the early 1980s, the Ranković family's house was moved from its original location on the outskirts of the village to the primary school yard in Draževac.
