The Alte Hessel is an approximately 9.5 km long left tributary of the Hessel in the area of ​​the North Rhine-Westphalian district of Gütersloh .

It arises as a left branch of the Hessel in the area of ​​the town of Borgholzhausen , then forms the border for a few hundred meters between Borgholzhausen and Versmold , then between Halle (Westphalia) and Versmold.
