The Kellerjochhütte is an alpine club hut built in 1897 by the Schwaz section of the Austrian Alpine Club (or DuOeAV ) in the Tux Alps .
The Alte Kellerjochhütte is located on the Kellerjoch ( 2344 m above sea level ) in the Tux Alps in the Tyrolean Lower Inn Valley near Schwaz. It is located in the area of the Proxenalm at 1846 m above sea level. A. on the western flank of the mountain, a little below today's material ropeway.
The hut was opened on August 28, 1897 by the Schwaz Alpine Club, founded in 1884, but then abandoned in favor of the (new) Kellerjochhütte ( 2237 m above sea level ) built in 1908 above the ridge . It was one of the first mountaineering huts in the area and at the time naturally a self-catering hut. It is made of stone masonry and had a room with a stove and a warehouse. Today it is only used privately.
