Altenschwand is a district of the municipality of Rickenbach in the Baden-Württemberg district of Waldshut .
The scattered settlement is located in the Hotzenwald , approx. 2 km north of Rickenbach. The sources of the village stream, a source stream of the Murg, are scattered in the surrounding corridor. The state road L 152 crosses the village, the district road K 6538 flows into it.
Together with glassworks , Altenschwand is one of the oldest glassmaking settlements in the Black Forest. The place is first mentioned in a document around 1300. Like the hamlet of Glashütten, it originally belonged to the Wehr office . Later he came to the unification of Rickenbach in the county of Hauenstein .
The former community with its districts Glashütten and Strick was incorporated into Rickenbach on January 1, 1973 as part of the municipal reform.
