Alwin Belger

Alwin Belger , actually Friedrich Christian Alwin Belger (born February 3, 1891 in Schönhausen , † April 28, 1945 in Bremen-Vegesack ), was a German educator .

biography

Belger was the son of an Ober-Bahn assistant. He attended the community school in Schönhausen, the secondary school in Rathenow and the upper secondary school at the Luther Church in Hanover , where he passed the Abitur in 1910. He then studied geography, English and French at the universities of Marburg , Munich and Rostock . With the beginning of the First World War he volunteered, but was released in 1915 after a leg amputation. He then continued his studies and received his doctorate in 1916 at the University of Rostock.

When he entered school he returned to Hanover. In 1919 he became a senior teacher of Vegesack to the Lyceum to Vegesack : mixed (1938 Gerhard Rohlfs-Gymnasium). Belger began to develop the extensive literature of the Africa researcher Gerhard Rohlfs , with the aim of making his life and work known far beyond Bremen. He could not finish the task he had set himself, as he died in the last days of the war in the battle for Bremen-Vegesack on April 28, 1945.
