Alwin Theobald (* 1968 in Eppelborn ) is a German politician ( CDU ). He was elected to the Saarland state parliament in the 2017 state elections in Saarland . In the CDU parliamentary group, Alwin Theobald exercises the role of spokesman for health policy. He is also the spokesman for the areas of child protection, child policy and poverty reduction as well as for the area of ​​civil servant policy.

Life

After attending primary and secondary school in Eppelborn , he trained as a road maintenance and civil engineering worker in 1984 at the State Road Construction Office (today: State Office for Roads). Until 1995 he worked in this profession for the road maintenance depots in Lebach and St. Wendel. In 1995 he made a further training to law enforcement officials, and was in prison Saarbrücken and the JVA Ottweiler operates.

In 2004 he was seconded to the Ministry of the Interior, Family, Women and Sport , where he became an employee and personal driver of State Secretary Gaby Schäfer . In 2007 he moved to the Ministry of Education and Culture , in 2009, after redesigning the departments in the state government, to the Ministry of Justice, Health and Social Affairs . In 2013 Alwin Theobald took over the youth work, youth social work, youth welfare school in the state youth welfare office .

Political career

In 1986 Theobald joined the Junge Union , in 1987 the CDU Saar . He was involved in local politics , including as chairman of the municipal association of the JU in Eppelborn and deputy district chairman. He was also a member of the JU regional executive committee for six years. Since 1997 he has been chairman of the CDU in Habach , and since November 2016 he has also been chairman of the CDU community association in Eppelborn.

In 1999 he was elected to the Eppelborn local council, where he has been deputy chairman of his parliamentary group ever since. In the 2017 state elections, he took up position 6 in the East constituency and was elected to the 16th Saarland state parliament.
