Amédée Rosier (born August 27, 1831 in Meaux ; † 1898 ) was a French painter .

Life

He studied with Émile Auguste Carolus-Duran and Léon Cogniet . He became known to a wider audience with his first exhibition in 1857, especially with the historical painting Le combat naval à Sébastopol . During his work he toured Venice and Constantinople, Egypt and North Africa. For his picture Venise, le Grand Canal , he received a bronze medal at the world exhibition in 1899 .
