action

Policewoman Gina Pulasky has only recently been on duty. When she and her partner want to help an abused wife, the brutal husband takes up his gun. He is shot by Pulasky.

The body of a child is discovered in the small town. Kyle Timler is suspected of being the murderer, but the evidence is missing. Since the local police do not have the personnel resources for an extensive observation of Timler, Pulasky, who is the same age, should befriend Timler. Her colleague Will McCaid, whom she also gets closer to in private, takes up the discussions and monitors the action.

Pulasky is smuggled in as an employee of the fast food restaurant in which Timler works. She gets to know him better, Timler takes her to the place where the child's body was found on a romantic evening. A little later he said he ran over an old man near a school. McCaid checks the information, a man was actually run over at the named place. Pulasky tells about her life, as a child she suffered from a brutal father. The police psychologist is concerned with her story. McCaid leaves his wife and moves in with Pulasky.

Timler and Pulasky break into a house and are arrested. After Timler is released on bail, another child is murdered. Pulasky meets him again, and the recorded conversation enables Timler to be arrested again.
