Amadou Diado

Amadou Ousmane Diado (* 1940 in Dalway ) is a Nigerian journalist .

Life

Amadou Diado's birthplace Dalway is a village in the rural community of Kourteye in western Niger. Diado attended elementary school in Say . He then trained as an agricultural instructor at the agricultural school in Kollo , which he graduated in 1958. He then worked in this profession for five years.

Diado changed his profession in 1963 and became a journalist for the state print media. In the 1960s he made corresponding training in Tunis and Paris . He wrote for the state weekly newspaper Le Niger and was promoted to editor-in-chief . In comments for Le Niger , he criticized inadequacies in the young republic under President Hamani Diori , such as the housing shortage and poor equipment in the domestic cinemas. He welcomed the 1971 releases and reductions in sentences for political prisoners . In his 1972 published novel Maimou , the first as a serial novel in Le Niger had appeared, he dealt with issues of marriage, especially the bride price .

Under Head of State Seyni Kountché , Amadou Diado was sent to the Nigerian embassy in Paris. There he worked in the 1980s as first secretary responsible for press and information. Diado worked as a communications consultant for Kountché's successor, Ali Saïbou .
