Amanda Vähämäki

Amanda Vähämäki (* 1981 in Tampere , Finland ) is a Finnish comic artist .

While studying painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna, she made contact with the local comic scene and founded the alternative comic magazine Canicola together with others in 2005 , in which she has since published some of her works. She has also worked with magazines and anthologies such as Strapazin , Orang , Galago and Forresten . Her only book to date has been published in Italian ( Campo di Babà , 2005), French ( Campo di Baba - Un champ de beignets , 2007), Finnish ( Pullapelto , 2007) and Swedish ( Bullefaltet , Komika Förlag 2007). Together with the Italian illustrator Michelangelo Setola , she published the volume Souvlaki Circus for Buenaventura Press in 2008 .

In 2005 she won the drawing competition at the Fumetto comic festival in Lucerne in the first category.
