Amber Rolfzen (born August 25, 1994 in Papillion , Nebraska ) is a former American volleyball player .

Career

Rolfzen began her career in 2013 with the Nebraska Huskers team at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln , where she played on the position of the diagonal attack. During her time with the Huskers, the diagnostic attackers received the Nebraska Student-Athlete HERO Leadership Award (2014), was elected to several All-Star teams and won the national championship (2015) as well as first place in the Big Ten Conference (2016). In November 2016, she lost with the Nebraska Huskers team in the semi-finals of the national championship in Ohio and thus missed the title defense.

After graduating from the University of Nebraska at the end of 2016, the reigning German champions and cup winners Dresdner SC announced the commitment of Amber Rolfzen on December 29th of that year. She received a contract until the end of the current 2016/17 season. There Rolfzen reached third place with the team in the championship standings. She then moved to France to Béziers Volley . At the end of the season, the team became French champions for the first time, before moving to league rivals Saint-Raphaël VAR Volley-Ball for the 2018/19 season. With the club she managed to get into the play-off games with 7th place in the main round, where she was subject to the RC Cannes in the second round . Rolfzen left the club after one season and joined the Italian first division club Chieri '76 volleyball . After the current season was canceled on March 7, 2020 due to the global COVID-19 pandemic , Rolfzen left the club in mid-March with immediate effect and announced the end of her career in April 2020.

In 2017 Rolfzen played for the US national team in the Pan-American Cup , which the Americans won.

Private

Her parents are Mark and Teresa Rolfzen, her sister Kadie Rolfzen is also a volleyball player. The identical twins were together in the squad of the Nebraska Huskers and were also together in the squad of the Dresdner SC in 2016/17.
