Ambica Banerjee

Ambica Banerjee ( Bengali অম্বিকা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় ; born August 28, 1928 in Shibpur, Howra, Bengal Province , British India ; † April 25, 2013 ) was an Indian politician of the All India Trinamool Congress party . From 2009 to 2013 he was a member of the Lok Sabha .

Life

Ambica Banerjee was born in 1928 as the son of Anilmohon Banerjee and Shyama Devi in Shibpur (city of Haora , today West Bengal ). He earned a Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Hatfield Technical College in England and then worked as a mechanical engineer.

Banerjee represented the Howrah Madhya constituency in the state parliament of West Bengal from 1982 to 2006 and was vice opposition leader from 1996 to 2006. He then represented the Howra constituency in the 15th Lok Sabha from 2009 to 2013.

He was married to Bela Banerjee since 1955 and had 2 daughters with her. Banerjee died on April 25, 2013 in Kolkata at the age of 84 .
