Ambt Montfort , ( Limburgish Amb Mofert ) was a municipality in the Dutch province of Limburg .

It was created in 1991 through the amalgamation of the previously independent communities of Montfort , Posterholt and Sint Odiliënberg . From 1991 to 1994 the community was called Posterholt , after which it was called Ambt Montfort. With effect from January 1, 2007 it was incorporated into Roerdalen .

Districts

The community consisted of eight districts. The seat of the administration was in the district of Sint Odiliënberg. 10,909 inhabitants live in the eight towns (as of December 31, 2006). They extend over an area of ​​44.28 km² .
