Course of the Amga in the catchment area of ​​the Aldan

The Amga ( Russian Амга ) is the longest tributary of the Aldans in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Russia ( Asia ) , with 1,462 km of flow .

The river has its source in the northwestern part of the Aldan highlands . From its source the Amga flows through the north-western and northern foothills of the highlands just mentioned to Amga , where it flows into the Aldan below the Chandyga on the Aldan.

The catchment area of the Amga, which was frozen over from the first half of October to May, covers around 69,300 km².

The lower Amga Valley is one of the few regions of Yakutia where arable farming is practiced.
