Amilcare Malagola

Amilcare Malagola (born December 24, 1840 in Modena , Italy , † June 22, 1895 ) was Archbishop of Fermo and Cardinal .

Career

Amilcare Malagola received the priestly ordination on December 19, 1863. In 1876 he was by Pope Pius IX. appointed Bishop of Ascoli Piceno . He received his episcopal ordination on July 9, 1876, the Archbishop of Fermo, Cardinal Filippo de Angelis ; Co- consecrators were Francesco Alessandrini , Bishop of Ripatransone , and Francesco Saverio Grassi Fonseca , Auxiliary Bishop in Fermo. In 1877 he was appointed Archbishop of Fermo. Pope Leo XIII. accepted him in 1893 as a cardinal priest with the titular church of Santa Balbina in Rome in the college of cardinals .

He died in office at the age of 54.
