Amir Azmy

Amir Azmy (born February 14, 1983 in Cairo ) is an Egyptian footballer . The defender was an Egyptian international .

He started his career with Zamalek , with whom he became Egyptian champion in 2003 and 2004. In 2004 he moved to Greece to PAOK Thessaloniki . With the club he finished sixth in 2005, which secured participation in the 2005/06 UEFA Cup . There PAOK reached the group stage, where you then u. a. knocked out against VfB Stuttgart and Shakhtar Donetsk . Then he went to Saudi Arabia to al-Shabab , but switched to Anorthosis Famagusta in early 2008 , with whom he became Cypriot master. He left Famagusta in the summer and then worked with Hacettepespor (Turkey), AEK Larnaka(Cyprus), Zamalek (Egypt), Diyarbakırspor (Turkey), Haras El-Hodood (Egypt), al-Taawon (Saudi Arabia) a number of associations, some of which he was only active for a few months. From 2011 to 2013 he was under contract with the Egyptian first division club Misr El-Makasa . Then he was with Zugdidi in Georgia. At the beginning of 2014 he moved back to Egypt to Ittihad El-Shorta and in September 2014 he went to Iraq to al-Talaba SC .

Amir Azmy took part in the 2003 Junior World Cup . There he was tested positive for nandrolone during a doping control and banned for 14 months. In 2005/06 he was appointed to the Egyptian national team five times.
